From Heather Summerhayes Cariou:
Dear Workshop Participants:
Thank you for a marvellous two days in Thunder Bay at the Sleeping Giant Writers Festival, and thank you also for your patience with me - I am late with this email because life has attacked me from several different places lately.
Below are the list of prompts and quotes I used to teach the classes. You can google the poems. You can look up the authors on Chapters or Amazon and order the books they come in. You can go to http://www.poetrydaily.com or http://www.poems.com. If you absolutely absolutely can't find a poem that you HAVE to have, email me and let me know. I'll get it to you sooner or later.
You gave me such a gift by allowing me to share with you what I know about writing memoir. I hope you don't mind if I ask you for something more....I'd like to teach more memoir classes, and your testimonials could help me realize that goal, so if you have something good to say - or a critique! - I'd welcome your comments wholeheartedly.
I'd like to remind the women to visit the website of the International Women's Writing Guild at http://www.iwwg.com and seriously consider joining us for the Remember the Magic Conference in June. It will change your life!
Many thanks again, and blessings,
Heather Summerhayes Cariou

From Steven Heighton:
I loved the Sleeping Giant festival: packed workshops full of enthusiastic participants, professional organizers, pleasant socializing, a well-stocked book table thanks to the Northern Woman's bookstore, a nice room in the Prince Arthur, and a drive in from the airport in Jackson Stone's stretch limo. Couldn't have asked for more.
Hope you're doing well. Thanks again!
Yours, Steve
From John Geddes:
By combining a welcoming Northern informality with serious attention to the writer's craft, the Sleeping Giant Writers Festival offers something unique. Inspiring for the novice, a reminder to veterans of what it's all about.
