Welcome to the Sleeping Giant Writers Festival 2008

The largest literary festival in Northern Ontario, held in the shadow of Thunder Bay's sleeping giant, the Sleeping Giant Writers Festival brings premier Canadian authors to the city for a weekend of workshops, readings, and interaction with festival attendees.

Now in its fifth year, the Sleeping Giant Writers Festival is pleased to announce the 2008 featured presenters:

• Alistair MacLeod - The Art and Craft of Fiction
• Steven Heighton - Poetry: Flash Characterization, Writing as Reenactment
• John Geddes - Mastering the Magazine Feature, Fiction from Beyond the Big City
• Duncan Weller - Writing and Illustrating for Children
• David Hayes - Feature Writing: Crafting Pitches That Sell, The Editor-Writer Relationship
• Heather Summerhayes Cariou - Memoir Writing

The festival is holding its Media Launch on Tuesday, June 10th, 2008 at the Waverly Resource Library.
